ESSENTIAL MELBOURNE

What makes a city? It can be hard to see beyond the ubiquitous high-rise and retail outlets to the real city. Beaches, parks, and some of Melbourne’s trendy suburbs, are all included in this immersive tour.

Overview

This tour is perfect for those short on time, or simply tired of walking! Over four hours we will drive you to some of Melbourne’s must-see destinations.

Brighton

We head to the bay-side suburb of Brighton, with its colourful beach bathing boxes, that must be the most photographed in the world. There are 82 boxes, built to conform to Victorian morality and ideals of modesty but today are highly desirable real estate. They all retain classic Victorian architectural features, with timber framing, weatherboards and corrugated iron roofs—but feature different colourful designs.

St Kilda Beach

Home to the iconic Luna Park and some distinctive Art Deco architecture. Take in the Esplanade and historic St Kilda Pier—and keep an eye out for little penguins at the St Kilda Breakwater.

Albert Park Lake

This is barely three kilometres from the heart of the city, yet it feels like a million miles away … unless its Formula One Australian Grand Prix weekend!! See the colourful sailboats on the lake and take in the magnificent views of the Melbourne skyline.

Fitzroy

Close to the CBD is Melbourne’s coolest suburb, Fitzroy. It is also the oldest, dating back to 1839. From colourful street murals, boutique stores and trendy art galleries to carefully curated vintage stores, Fitzroy has plenty of hipster tourist destinations.
