Overview
Hunter Valley is a major producer and exporter of wine worldwide with around 150 wineries producing exceptional varieties. Most famous for dry table wines such as Semillon, but also producing award winning Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Verdelho. The Hunter Valley is also the oldest wine growing region in Australia, starting in the 1820s. Some of today’s vines are descendants of these original cultivations.
